Superhawk Fork oil

Peter,

I am about to replace the springs in the hawk with some progressive springs and I have a few questions because I don't entirely agree with progressive based on your input in the forum thus far. So i am asking for your advice on fork oil and spacer dimensions.

According to Progressive i should be running the oil level 5.5 inches from the top of the tube with the fork collapsed. The question I have is is this measurement BEFORE working the damping rod and filling the damper with oil. According to my calculations 5.5 inches is 139.7mm's. Seems way off when I searched and looked at some of your reccomendations for other bikes!!!

They also recommened that the spacer be between 0-0.5 inches above the tube depending on weight and sag required.

I'm 250lbs 6' tall and ride pretty aggresive.

Any input and light you could shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance Peter!!

The Progressive spring are very dense compares to the springs used in my fork jobs, so I would go with 140-150mm. I don't like the Progressive Suspension brand of spring because they are too soft and are too heavy. you will need to experiment with the spacer, as the progressive spring vary the rate with preload. why not just buy a set from me? I can get you the right spacer length as well.
