Fork oil level in 2003 zx636

Does anyone know waht the fork oil level, or capacity, is in the 2003 zx636? I'm going to change mine soon, but don't have the factory manual. ALso, I used to change it in my '86 VFR700. Are there any tricky things to watch for with the Kawasaki that may be different? I'd hate to foul it up by not knowing something important.

Uase 10 wt and set the level to 120mm to start. You will need a spring comperssor and a split seal driver as well as a cartridge holding tool and 17mm and 30mm wrenches.

the same oil level will work for the VFR

Thanks for the info. Sounds a bit more involved than my old VFR was. Pete, what might you charge for doing that job? I'm an Amsoil dealer. Would probably use their 10wt Suspension Fluid, what do you think? I haven't used it before and wondered if you had and what you opinion was of it. I am probably looking at doing it next spring since extra money is pretty tight right now.

Thanks,

Judd Smith

I've never tried their fork oil, We use Motorex. When I do a fork oil change I take the fork completely apart and clean all the parts. The cost is $150 for teh labor and about $40 in seals and oil. You will get a 10% discount through NESR. Winter is a good time to do it because we're not too busy. I also will holding some shop days where you can bring the forks and do it your self.

Thanks for the info, Peter. This winter I'll get some extra cash together and contact you to bring them in.

Thanks again.
