Works Performance shock

Question for Pete. I have a 93 GSX1100G with a fairly new Works shock {Ultra Sport w/ remote resevoir} on it. I got it because there isn't much choice for this old couch. Anyhow, I've read that you aren't too fond of them, and that sits ok with me. But, can you do work on them? When I ordered it, they asked me a bunch of questions on how to set it up. I tried lean towards sport touring. Their idea of sports touring has way too much compression damping for my tastes, or more appropriately, my fiance's back. Being a shafty, it has a bunch of unsprung weight to deal with, and not having any compression damping adjustment sucks. Can you do the internal changes to take a bunch or all of the compression damping out? The difference was glaring when I got my old Ohlins equipped 86 GSXR out on the road. Sooo much better. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It isn't in a "need it yesterday" situation. So I'll have to get off my butt and get it out of the bike. I'll either ship it to you, or if you give me your hours, I might take a ride and deliver it. Could I have a guesstimate on cost, please. Just so I can avoid any shock. Thanks. Tabby
