One last little thing about the forks.....

Ok, so after talking with you a few times today Peter, got them BETTER, but not RIGHT. Before with the lack of preload, the front would bounce/stutter essentially from the time you got on the brakes, until the point you were stopped. Now with the correct preload, the bike gets maybe 2-3 bumps/chatters when initiating hard braking, and then smooths out for the most part.

Am I just into a damping issue now? I'm using 15w oil, as recommended along with the springs I got (the .80kg racetechs). Should I try adding/removing a little oil at a time to try and remedy this? Or perhaps just try another weight oil altogether? I put the bike back together with the oil 105mm below the tubes (as per OEM ). I know you said try 130 and go from there, but I dont know "where to go from there", so I'm pretty much up a stream with no paddle here.

Nah, someone pointed out to me it may just be a bit underdamped. I'll f00k with the oil levels in the next day or two and see if I cant smooth it out a bit.

I got it.

Its not 100%, but its pretty damn close to feeling "right" as far as I'm concerned. I get 2 tiny little chatters when initiating full braking power, but I could alleviate that even probably with being smoother on the controls.

Bike settles 25mm under its own weight, and another 10mm with me on it, for a grand total of 35mm of sag.

So with this info, I'll likely tweak it little by little, riding between each tweak to see how it feels.

All is well again.

Obviously much thanks to the one and only Mr. Peter Kates.

I could still go with more oil, rode it all today, and I'm thinking I could still stiffen up the damping a bit, getting just a small bit of very high speed oscillations under hard braking from high speeds, but other than that, its feeling really good.
