Replacing the frame.


I'm going to try to get my frame replaced by next race weekend. To maintian my geometries do I just want to measure the fork hieght and set them the same? Everything else should come back together as it was before correct?

Replacing the frame.


It will be close not exactly. Don't take the forks out of the lower calmp, just remove the whole assembly. Same with the shock and swing arm, unbolt the swing arm and link and put the whole thing on the new frame/motor.

Jay,

Here's what you do:

1--drive down to daytona by yourself
2--screw up your frame
3--have GMD measure it and then tell you its bent
4--scramble for ideas

THEN

5--put jack stands under the engine to support it
6--take everything else off
7--put the new frame on TOP of the engine assembly
8--tighten bolts.



Oh ya, do this without help.

thats half the fun.

i did the work in the pits, but i hear doing it from the motel parking lot or hotel room is just as much fun.

Plus the bath tub makes a nice parts washer and there's always more towels....
