Suspension help and front tire wear.Hi, hoping someone could help me out here. I have an 03 Kawi 636. Im planning on racing next season for the first time. My problem is this. This season while riding very hard on some nice twistys, I noticed my front tire wearing very strange. While taking left and right corners equally as hard, I noticed while taking right corners my front tire is wearting much further than on left corners. Almost to the edge. Once I even had the feeling on a right corner that my front tire was going to wash out on me. Im wanting to know if there is any way I can make sure things are lined up right? My bike was lowered in the past and is now back to stock height. Or can anyone lok at this for me and a rough idea on what it would cost me? Thank you all for your help in advance. Steve |

Suspension help and front tire wear.I can get some idea of what's going on from the tire wear, but the best way is for me to measure it. If you can remove the bodywork and tank, it $100, it you bring in a complete bike it's $150. After it's measured I can tell you exactly what's wrong and how much to fix it. I can also set up you 636 for the track next year. Is the bike all stock now? |

Suspension help and front tire wear.Yes my bike is stock now. Except for little things like sprockets (-1f +2r). Suspension wise it is stock. Maybe I have my forks a little twisted going from lowered back to stock height. I really do appreciate all your help. I will definately be bringing it to you to have it adjusted for me. I am horrible at trying to get it dialed in right. Just cant get the sweet spot. Thanks again for your help. Steve |

Suspension help and front tire wear. The uneven wear is a sign of a twist, most likely in the frame or the swing arm. Has the bike ever been crashed? |

Suspension help and front tire wear. The bike has never been crashed. It had been dropped while not moving. Have frame sliders and they are all that touched the ground. Also it was on a gravel driveway, not hard pavement. The bike does have over 20K miles on it. I have put new tires and loosened and re-set the forks. Seemed to be a lot better but I am still feeling that right corners dont cut as hard as left ones. I think I will just have to get it to you and have it completly gone through. As I am just starting racing this coming year, I really dont want to crash or not be comfortable with the bike because of the bike itself. I want to go balls to the wall racing as long as I know the bike is right. Agian, thanks for your time. Steve |
