xr 650r SM suspension


Just bought a honad xr650r street legal with stock suspension wheels etc( a 2000)

lookign to upgrade the suspension both front and rear

are the sprign rates the similar to street biek(i used .95 on my old zx6r)
or are they different?

do you stil runthose "shop days"

fellows on the xr boards seem to regularly and easily swap out oil and springs onthese thigns.

The spring rates are all different, so we'll need to see what would be best for you. I'll do some more shop days, but right now I'm back logged 3-4 weeks so it will hav eto wait till March or so.

Black, if you're like me you'll want a bit stiffer setup. My XR will serve triple duty...dirt/street/track. I am a fat ass so I run heavy springs (about as heavy as you can get with stock valving). I had Pete do my suspension (so he's at least experienced 1 XR650 before...lol) and we went with 7.5wt oil and .49kg up front and 11kg in the rear. I opted not to re-valve at this point but it may need to be done yet. Check my "Winter Woes" post out for pics!
