LOWERING A F-3

Basic answer: The more you lower the rear of the bike the slower steering response will be.

Another alternative to lowering the bike is shaving the seat cushion.

best option, bring it to GMDComputrack

Or, if you want the easy way out, buy her a BMW 1200RT and she can lower the seat and suspension withthe push of a button...

Lower both the front and rear. Lowering by the same amount will keep handling characteristics closer to stock (it wont be the same though...lower COG, ground clearance, suspension travel, etc...). The handling difference will be more drastic if you just lower the rear - steering geometry changes in this case.

+ 1 on paying Peter Kates of GMD Computrack a visit...he may recommend details on suspension adj. w/ a lowered bike.
