Digressive (Preloaded) Shim Stack?Hi Pete. Just got gold valving for the CBR F4 forks and have a ? about Digressive (Preloaded) Shim Stack? I would like to know what this entails. By the sheet it works very well for road race applications. That is good and everything but what does it actually allow to happen? Question 2: I think I already know the answer but I ask it anyway. The valving I received is for the compression end. Should I do the same for the rebound end? Will there be a catastrophic situation if I run the stock rebound until next year? Question 3: Oil recommended is US1 ( 3.5w-5w). That seems kind of light. Is that right? I may end up stopping in this week. |

Digressive (Preloaded) Shim Stack? It's not actually digressive, it just delays the opening or the compression stack by putting a little pre-load on it. It works good if you have some high speed compression support. You will have to change the rebound valving no matter which version of the compression valving you use. It's too light for any thing less than 10 wt. Call be for stopping by, we're swamped. |
