Big PROPS to Peter!

Background: I got a new to me CBR600rr (2005) over the winter. I sent Peter Kates the forks, and the Ohlins shock from my previous 2003 year bike. I took the items off and on the bike, so Peter never saw the bike until yesterday.

So... yesterday was the first time running the bike on the track.

The suspension was dialed in nicely until I started really getting up to speed.

As soon as I started feeling "squirrely", I asked Peter to take a look at things.

He did his thing (pressing, bouncing, clicking, turning), and gave the bike back to me.

I went back out and was instantly more confident and faster... even though it felt like I was going slower (because the bike was more controlled)

It's amazing how beneficial a well setup suspension is.

I know most people here know this already, but please spend your money on suspension BEFORE engine mods or cosmetic stuff (pipes, tail kits, blinkers, etc)

My bike is bone stock except for suspension and rearsets and I was able to keep up with much more powerful bikes yesterday. Heck, I even passed a few.

Big PROPS to Peter!

i got my bits and pieces back from peter and ran them at VIR where the bike felt great ... but coming back to the animal that is loudon made the bike feel squishy and not so stable. Peter bounced my bike up and down a couple times, twisted a couple dials and I went back out to a bike that felt much more solid
