Adjusted sag and the bike now feels nervousThe front wasn't a big adjustment but the rear I tightened (compressed the spring) about 3/8" to 1/2". All the dampening I kept standard. The dramatic change I did to the rear spring I believe has created this. Now the "nervous" feel is while on the highway and the bike gets jittery on rippled pavement. What adjustment should I start with to remedie this? All I think about is the fact that I have increased the spring rate of the rear spring and now it reacts more violent. |

Adjusted sag and the bike now feels nervousThe maximum preload on a spring should not exceed 15mm. There is usually 12-15 stock, so if you added 10-12 more, it's way over preloaded. You need a much stiffer spring. What bike is it and how much do you weigh? |

Adjusted sag and the bike now feels nervousK7 GSXR 1000 I weigh 230 Lb. The amount of sag in the stock setting was 42mm. I tightened the spring all the way thinking I might not even reach 32 and got a total of 19 mm sag. 19mm was too much so I backed off till I got my desired 32mm sag. I agree that I should get a new spring. I'll have to mess with the dampening in the meantime. |
