New suspension

Got a rear penske and new fork set up. I decided to take the bike for a short test ride as I had to get back to work. Well, 4.5 hours later, looks like there is no point in going back to work.

There is a huge difference and I love it!

First, I can move around on the bike without it getting pissed off. Before, when I moved across the seat the bike would move all over the place. Now, it remains stable. If fact, I can move around while leaned over without the bike getting all sorts of weird inputs.

Next, the bike seems to brake better and pull out of corners better. The front doesn't dive too much, and when I accelerate the rear doesn't wallow.

This is frigg'n cool. Money well spent. Thanks Peter.

Its a good thing they made the gap in the swingarm large enough to drop the shock through. For a minute there I thought we were going to have to strip the motor down and rebore the cylinders before the shock was free to come out.

Yeah, when you and peter were talking about turning my "speed triple" into a "brisk twin" I was getting a little concerned.

The "R," like most manufacturers’ "R" models is ready for superstock racing. However, I went with progressives front/back springs and heavier fork oil. (I imagine peter would be horrified). The suspension is very stiff and I like it, but bumpy corners get a little hairy. Maybe HD will come out with an "RR" model with better suspension.
