Fender hitting fairing??

Mike or Pete,

Any suggestions if my fender is hitting something under my fairing?

It's an 05 CBR600rr, and there appears to be a small "lip" of some sort under the front fairing... and it's contacting my fender enough that it took out a chip from the fender.

I think the only place it's hitting is entering turn 3 when I hit that sharp edge.

Now here's the kicker... I was actually considering lowering the front end because it doesn't feel like it wants to turn in as quick as I'd like. Mid corner and exit feel good.

Any thoughts before I go screwing things up?

I was considering raising the front end a bit, then increase the rear ride height to compensate? (stock forks reworked by Pete, and Ohlins rear shock with hydraulic preload or ride height adjuster... I forget which one)

I realize my name isn't Mike or Pete, but....

Take the caps off the forks and compress the suspension fully and move it through the full range of motion. Trim away the offending part of the fender/fairing.

I can clearly tell what part of the fairing is hitting the fender.

It's just that I would rather adjust the suspension than modify the fairing... even if it is a hidden piece of the fairing.

Tony,

Give me a call on Monday if you have time. I am lazy and I don't feel like typing all day.

I'll be at the Keith Code school at Loudon on Monday.

Tell me the truth, Mike... did Pete screw up my suspension? Come on, you can tell me. It's just us. No one's listening.
