Arghh!OK, I really have grown to dislike wrenching on my suspenders. I should just pay the pros to do it... Today I went to change a fork seal on my KTM and of course, the cap requires a pin wrench (don't have) I found one at a local hardware store, but it needed a little relieving to fit around the adjuster. Next, as i split the fork it required a few hard pulls to seperate, and the inner bush popped off inside, instead of pulling the outer bush out with it... Now I have to pry that sucker out carefully just to get a new seal in... It took me all morning as it is, and I haven't done the hard part yet... It seems for me, if it can go wrong it will with suspension work ![]() |

Arghh! That's why I dont mess with it. The money Peter Kates will charge is considerably less than the aggravation of fighting with it myself. ![]() |

Arghh!Paul, I know exactly where you are coming from. I did a full rebuild of the pogo-sticks on my RMX250, once. Now I drop them off at Mike Martire's shop and sign a check. I hope you get them together alright and can enjoy this beautiful weather. |

Arghh!Yeah, I've used Mike and peter's services when I can't get it done myself, but changing a seal should be a 30 minute job on a modern upside down fork. That's including taking it off the bike! |

Arghh!30 minutes?! Even with an impact gun, soft copper jaws in my vice for the forks, and all the tools I need, I don't think I could do it in that time frame. I guess practice makes perfect? |

Arghh!the 125 forks were particularly easy... These WP forks should be pretty quick too, but not this time |

Arghh!OK, a little heat applied and the outer bushing came out easy. I knicked the teflon a little, so I think I'll replace it if valley has them in stock. Otherwise, I'll smooth it down and use it til the next oil change. I still need to heat cycle the new piston and ride a little on Friday to make sure everything is good to go. |

Arghh! All back together... Now that I know the ins and outs of these forks, they are indeed pretty easy. Thanks to Peter for the tips and tricks!!! |
