Re-whatevering a shock?

Ok I got a Fox racing shock off ebay, and its never been rewhatevered you need to do to a shock. Should I just wait until the end of the season and get it done, or is it worth throwing on the bike for the last race weekend and then doing it? Its not leaking or anything, just old and needs some new fluids or whatever it is the duece you do to these things.

I don't think they make springs for your weight. You could try taking one out of a ballpoint pen

Re-whatevering a shock?

Tried that, too stiff. But its a rear shock, I dont even know the term off the top of my head, but freshening up the fluids and all that crap. I just want to add a bit more ground clearance than what I have. The stock 91 shock isnt holding up too well.

Rewhatevering is really expensive. How about we just rebuild it? $85 inc. fluids & nitrogen.
