gotcha! I am one of the most respectful people you will ever meet and always take what people say and learn. It seemed like there were a couple people that just decided to gang up on me over nonsense. I'm over it...just want straight answers not to be told i'm stupid for asking a question

Oh youll be told your stupid whether you are or not around here, you just have to know when they are serious and when they are not. lol The gang up thing is just how people emphasize the right thing to do. You'll get used to it.

I just bought an 03 Honda CBR 600RR and i am only 5'5. I have read about lowering links etc. and hear different opinions regarding handling and whatnot. I definitely would feel much more comfortable with the bike lowered maybe 3".

I have also heard that you can play around with the actual suspension without adding links. Is this possible and if so, how easy and safe is it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks PK
If you are just learning to ride, one of the most important things you can do for yourself is to get a bike that allows you to be flat footed, knees bent at a full stop. We can lower the bike some 3 inches in out of the question. We can about 1-1.5 inches before the tires start to contact hard parts. Give me call for details, and just ignore the other comments. You posted on a Friday night when half the forum members are drunk and the other half are out looking for legs to hump.

just another short guy adding his 2 cents...

i'm about 5'5" on a good day and i started out on one of those crappy EX250s, and yes it was crappy. as my bikes grew larger over the years (finally culminating in a ZX-12R) i never once resorted to lowering it... never dropped it either. i credit the EX with giving me the confidance to ride any unlowered bike i pleased. much like another member and his RC51, i had to push my 12R around parking lots (always a source of amusement for my riding buddies at the time).

however, since you are a new rider and already bought the 600RR. i say lower it if you must. you can always unlower it when things start scrapping the ground as you progress as a rider. the most important thing is to feel comfortable for your first year or so. after you gain some confidance the sky is the limit... though i still tend to shy away from motards and tall adventure bikes.

...but, what the hell do i know.
