Local advice

So my gsx-r600 is new to me by about a month and 1k miles.

the bike I had before had only one suspension adjustment, preload on the rear shock which was easy enough for me to handle.

Now that I have the gixxer, I have no clue where the setting should be. Its not just preload any more. high speed and low speed settings baffle me. I understand what they do, but I have no idea where they were set or where they should be when I bought the bike.

Is there someone in the burlington area that would be able to help me set it up for someone my weight? or, someone at one of the shops in the area that I could take it to for a reasonable price?

Hey,

My father in law is in the newport NH area. If that is close to you, I will shoot him an email to get ahold of you. He is an engineer and all around gear head. He helped me put my back all the way together last year. Newport is 10-15 minutes away from Claremont, 20-25 minutes from ascutney, if that helps.

Re: Local advice

I can help you set your static sag and we can talk about your suspension.

I am sure someone at bike night can help us too...

Gonna maybe have a wrenching day at ICCE.

PM oldwheels, that's my father in law, just got him to sign up. He makes suspension parts for everything from airplanes to earth movers. He will size up and fix motorcycle problems in his sleep.

I have done it numerous times its no biggie and as he said ^^^.....Its just a bit of Dialing in the settings to fit your Rider ability weight and Use...no prob

Factory Connection is who showed me how to do it.....

and I know on Superbikes there was a guy who helped out JB on his 636 and did almost all of the set up on TV..def good on to see

mind you I am by no means a Pro at this shit I don't think I ever could be but Peter Kates is....that my hero I wish I could be a fly on the wall in his shop for a Day.....damm I would be GoodToGO

Re: Local advice

I'm open to whatever advice anyone can give.

sorry I was kinda lagging on this thread brit triple. I'm way up in northwestern VT, a little to far from your father in law but I will send him a PM to see what he has to say.

Pigman, i'll send you a PM and see what we can work out.

Also doc, that sounds like a good idea on the wrenching day. makes sense.
