Help with 1995 RM 125 carb

I bought a 95 RM125. It ran when I got it, but it fell off my trailer( thanks Jay ;p ) and now I cant get it to run. It fell off going slow 5-10mph so its not wrecked or anything. The gas is new. The spark plug has been changed (has spark) and the carb taken apart and cleaned. I think it may be a problem with the float valve adjustment. Jetting is all stock and correct. Anyone that has experience with this sort of thing, please help! Thanks!

Help with 1995 RM 125 carb

When it fell off the trailer did anything poke or bump the boot between the carb and the cylinder? Look for cracks or tears in this.

Try to troubleshoot where the problem is:
Take out the air filter and make sure the boot is clear.

Turn the gas on and tip the bike over until gas flows out the overflow tube for the carb. This tells you if gas is getting to the bowl (stuck needle/seat, clogged tank filter, bad petcock).

Take the plug out, and pour a few drops (about a drinking straw full) of gas/oil mix into the cylinder, put the plug back in and try to start it. If it runs for a few seconds the problem is in the carb or the intake (cracked reed valves).

    Hope this helps... Good Luck

Help with 1995 RM 125 carb

Before the "incident" Did it run well? or just barely? Sounds strange to me.

What kind of carb is it? I would also look for physical evidence. Kinked hoses, carb boot, kill switch wiring, coil wiring, etc., etc.

    That's what I was thinking...
get a continuity tester and check the kill switch wiring.

Help with 1995 RM 125 carb

The air filter is clear. The carb is getting gas. Fuel is getting into the cylinder (plug is wet), the plug is sparking when I kick it over. It was running funny in powerban before it fell, but it started right up first kick and rode fine.
How about playing with the idle and air screw? Would those really screw up its ability to start? I took those out when I cleaned the carb. The air scew is adjusted to stock specs, but the idle screw is just screwed in 3/4 of the way.

    Thoughts?

    Funny? Can you describe that?

Also, is there a spec for the idle screw? That is definitely important, but it should start with the thottle open a bit.

I don't think the crash is related to this.

Can you have someone help you stand the bike on it's back tire to see if fuel dumps out the tailpipe?
