25" Rack Raisers - $60

    25" Rack Raisers - $60

Save over 30% off the retail price and boost your bed up 25".

For those that are unfamiliar with Rack Raisers, they are just metal extensions for the legs of a bed. For some colleges and universities, this is the only LEGAL way of performing this task.

Personally, I found the 25" size helped a lot in my dorm single as I could save floor space by putting my mini-fridge under my bed.

Bump: I closed one of the dorms as an RA and found TWO more sets of the 25" rack raisers.

I also have 5 sets of the 6" rack raisers: $5 for a set.

    No:

    25" rack raisers = $60

    6" rack raisers = $5

But I was AMAZED at the free stuff one could get just by going to a college campus during closing. I've seen:
    -dvd/vcr combo
    -lcd monitor
    -~$10 in change
    -lan cables
    -cable TV wires
    -cork boards, dry erase boards
    -computer speakers, headphones
    -bicycles
-textbooks (which you can sell back to the bookstore)

And much more. I had a field day getting what I could, but (bearing in mind that some fly, some are rich, and some don't have time to pack) I don't know why students would throw away some stuff

Having been an RA for two years, nothing at a college surprises me

Pfffft... "Rack Raisers"... don't you crazy college kids have TIG welders in your dorm rooms? Just toss a Journey cassette in the Hi-Fi and weld up some angle-iron, yo.

    Update:

Add to the list that I'm also selling three sets of 18" rack raisers.

    So the grand total is:

    -25" rack raisers = $60/set (I have 3 sets available)
    -18" rack raisers = $50/set (I have 3 sets available)
    -6" rackraisers = $5/set (I have 6 sets available)

If all else fails, bring them to the BU bookstore when the freshmen move in, and you'll sell them in no time. I'm an RA too, and I sold 4 sets of them last year for $50 each in about 1 hour. Not a bad take just for storing them from May (move-out) to August (move-in).

The bookstore sells them for $95-$100 and BU tells all the parents that they will only allow students to use these specific ones, so they will happily buy them at 50% off! You'll definitely find more interest there than you would on a motorcycle forum...
