Place to install Slip-on in Burlington?

I've been looking at getting a slip on for my 08' zx6r, probably a two bro's. The problem is I'm completely mechanically dumb. I can do oil changes, but thats about it. Anyone know a place near Burlington that would install a slip-on for a reasonable price?

Offer beer and pizza, and I guarantee someone close to you on here will do it. And you'll learn as well.

I would say that a slip on is about as easy as changing your oil. Why dont you buy it, open it up and see whats involved. I bet you will say, "I can do this".

I agree with mycirus. Get the box open and see what is involved. You may find it a rather easy task and once completed you can treat yourself to beer and pizza.

slip-ons are easier than oil changes.

    1 - remove old exhaust
    2 - install new exhaust
    3 - ???
    4 - profit

Re: Place to install Slip-on in Burlington?

The 08s have an undertail slip on right? I guess that is a little more difficult to install, but it's nothing any patient person can't do on their own. BUT, if you do not have the time to do the install or just too lazy, it would only cost like $50 for a shop to do it for you I think. I probably could help you out some day...I work in Burlington.

    Places near you would be:

If you were closer to me, it would already be installed...

Re: Place to install Slip-on in Burlington?

There's an elite few from the BTV area that could help. If I still lived up there I'd give you a hand. If it's an undertail exhaust you might need some sockets and wrenches if you don't have them. I think undertail is a little more involved than a right / left exit slipon. Just take your time and if the instructions confuse you ask away here.

    Green,
I live near BTown and am about your skill level. I now have most tools needed. I am practicing on my dirt bikes. I am also going to put on a slip on Muzzy exhaust on my 04 Z-1000.
I am also adding Napolean bar end mirrors and I will attempt to add new HID lights. It depends how much trouble they turn out to be. It sounds simple though.
I am a little scared of the unknown, but each time I do something it gets better and I get more confidence.

If you go to a shop, Roadside Marine is the one around here and they sell Kawi.
    Good luck,
    OT

Re: Place to install Slip-on in Burlington?

This thread inspired me to finally install my Akra pipe that I got last week.

Took me maybe 20 minutes... and 10 minutes of that was stepping on & off of the bathroom scale in amazement of how heavy the stock exhaust was compared to the Akra

    stock - almost 19lbs
    akra - less than 5lbs
