As a Infantry Officer, slated to deploy there in the coming year, I think your totally wrong and basing your opinions off of fear and that everything Obama does is wrong is pretty fucken pathetic and shallow minded. Truth be told, I don't support a lot of his policies, but this one makes sense. If you are any bit up to date with the current war over there, or the strategy, or have spoken with anyone who has been there than your opinion might change (or even count). Your out of the loop...face it.
Obama did the right thing. The surge worked in Iraq in 2007, and it will work in Afghanistan hopefully. People are bitching about the with draw in July 2011 as if every single soldier is going to pick up and leave Afghanistan that month. This is not true, listen carefully, they will start the draw down that month. We will still have over 60,000 soldiers there by the end of 2011, probably more. Do you know the logisitcal nightmare it is to move so much equipment (3 army Infantry Brigade Combat Teams including the whole 101st Airborne division, which has more helicopters than any nation in the world!) plus the 8000 marines (and that is just the force he is sending there now, not the troops already there and slated to go like myself). They won't just disappear over night. There will still be troops there in 2012, 2013, and def 2014. We are not surrendering, we are taking the fight to the enemy and we finally have the resources to do it now since the BCT's are no longer rotating to Iraq.
Your post is pointless in my POV, and even though I'm mostly right winged, you give us a bad named and I'm embarassed to even be associated with your political party.
Try and get your fact straight next time.
