    R.I.P. fellow rider

Link to a facebook remembrance page

I really didnt know this kid but just hits home to me since i knew of him. he was wearing a helmet and still suffered terrible head injuries that eventually took his life. i believe he had an arai or shoei helmet so even the expensive helmets cant protect you as much as you would like to hope.

He hit a deer on the everett turnpike at highway speed(around 65) i was told. Really hits me hard because i like cruising around the backroads at night(not being reckless) but my friend once hit a deer at night and came out basically unscathed. Makes me feel like my "luck" could run out.

    RIP

    Awful...

...but he will live on in a sense...as an organ doner.

Tricky Mike went past this scene shortly after it happened. He told me about it on Tuesday at the track.

    Tragic...so young.

    RIP. Careful out there folks...

Deer keep different hours than we do. They are considered crepuscular animals, which means they are active around twilight and sunrise. However, researchers have identified other peaks in daily activity, one near midday and one or two peaks during the night.

Sucks man. Just saw it on the news this morning. But they said he wasn't wearing a helmet. None the less, heartbreaking for anyone that knew him...

yeah im not 100% sure he was because he did ride without it at times but im giving the benefit of the doubt... still we should all know that helmets arent 100% effective.

RIP to the dood. The organ donor tag is a noble thing.

Fuckin' deer. So many of em in Va., yet they ain't really even part of the food chain except to kill peeps in cars and on bikes. Ya oughtta hear the uproar when they propose extended seasons and kills in target-rich environments. Deer-advocates are just peeps that ain't hit one yet.

What I posted may have come across wrong. I certainly didn't mean anything even remotely derogatory. My thoughts go out to anyone effected by this, no matter...

Maybe they were talking about another incident, maybe they got it wrong. Again though, I sincerely didn't mean anything by that...

no worries here man. i was implying i had seen him ride around with out a helmet a few time before. i was implying that (to me atleast) helmets really aren't a gurantee and it took this for me to realize that.

RIP fellow rider. It is a noble thing to be an organ donor and we should all do it if it affords another person a life.

As for the helmet, we should be wearing ATGATT. Accidents happen and you never know when they will occur.
