I need a fluid holding belly pan for an SV650 (1st gen). The bike is unfaired and just needs a belly pan or lower that can function without an upper there.
Want to get it soon.

Please tell me those will pass tech.
8.25.5 All fluid catch pans must be mounted in a safe and workman-like manner. (Zip-ties and duct tape do not qualify as safe and workmanlike mounting.)
8.25.6 Final approval of the catch pan system rests with the Tech Inspector.
Back in 2000, I used a turkey baster aluminum tray with MA-CCS at Summit Point, WV. Unfortunately, 10+ years later, they have "outlawed" aluminum foil catch cans. you would need to get something a bit more sturdy. I have seen fiberglass lower "catch cans" for under a hundred bucks that would work fine.

Thanks Doc,
The second one looks good. Waiting to hear back if they can get it to me soon enough.
I had looked at the yoyodyne one but they are out of stock and so it the other vendor they referred me too (speedwerks)
Speedwerks referred me to Beasley Composites who have a generic one for $130 they say fits an SV but they have to make it and it will be close (time-wise).

Is this for racing?
Technically, you don't need one since the bike didn't come with one.
I disagree with this rule but nonetheless it'll get you out there until you buy bodywork.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

Yes, this is for racing.
I think I mis-read the classes for production twins, I didn't realize there was a MW class that included SV's. So my bike can still be called a 'production twin' motorcycle even if I am not racing in that class (no novice classes).
8.25 Fluid Catch Pans
8.25.1 All 4-stroke machines must be equipped with a fluid catch pan sufficient size and heat-resistant material to contain the contents of the crankcases in the event of an engine or crankcase failure. Minimum capacity of the fluid catch pan is to be 3 quarts.

8.25.7 All production twin motorcycles are exempt from the catch pan rule
