I echo everybody's thank you to Ray-Ray and the leaders/sweepers from BK.
Dave, Sam, and Cheese... thanks again for your leadership and no-nonsense approach to these rides. You guys are what make it so much fun, and more importantly, safe for all of us!
Holy shit, someone got shot and DucDave stabbed a guy???
I had my camera rolling for bits. I did not realize quite how much I bunched up and/or kept the formation at speed. What's worse is it is something I had been cognizant of and actively trying to avoid. One second we're in town rolling at 20-30.. then we're back in the open at 50 before I knew it. Seing the video shows me I still have some work in this aspect of group riding etiquette.
I'm not completely down with this out-in-out line, personally. Not universally anyway. But nobody can argue with the 3 seconds thing.
My apologies to anyone I may have encroached on yesterday.
I do feel pretty confident riding with this crowd. After only a couple rides, I feel like I can trust ya'll. My goal is to be trustworthy in that same respect.
Want to see video. who has it? let us poor saps that could not go live thru u guys. video plz
When do use the whole road and not half the lane? Whenever YOU feel you need too. It's different for everyone and why you should NEVER pass in the same lane as someone unless waived on.
Personally, if the road's really tight and bumpy (or wet) I start using more of the road at a lower speed than if it's smooth and more open. It gives more options/time to make adjustments if you need to. There is no "one size fits all" as to when to do this. It's a comfort thing.
For those who don't know what outside inside outside lanes are here's a visual. Think of the heavy black line on the left in the picture as the double yellow on the street.

If u need help let me know
well put, Dave, you sneaky sneaky
I also could have done a better job judging one of those truck-lane passes on Rt 9.
Wouldn't dream of passing another rider without a very clear waive.
"Late" is better than "ideal" and "early" can get you into a head on!

I have video too. ~8GB of it! All from my Contour mounted on the handlebar. The footage is not epic, not in any way shape or form. The sun played tricks on the camera in may places. And the sound completely blows. I may or may not edit some of it down to see if I can come up with something worth posting.
I also screwed up at lunch and mounted the camera with a partial view of the speedo for the afternoon, which I did not want.
I woud like to thank everyone who came out to my ride again this year. I love meeting new faces and putting them to screen names. Special thanks to the Collective for meeting up with us at lunch and having a safe ride to and from Margaritas. Over all a great day! I had a blast and hope you all did too! Kind of chilly in the morning but it did warm up. But slabbing home on rt. 2 was coldddddddd. You guys are all awesome and hope you had a great time too!! Final number was 41. I can't wait until next year.... Happy 2012 riding season and hope you all are safe throughout the year! Thank you again!
P.s. Please do not put up any controversial photos/footage.

Nobody waives the sweep by .... humph!
I was never close enough to be waved by. That's why I swept.
