100% for it.
100% for it.
SRTie4k, please try to raise the bar here. If you have a difference of opinion, then this is why I posted this thread. Voice your opinion! This other crap is not helping your cause or giving you any credibility.
You know what cheapens the "sacrament" of marriage more than whom marries whom? The 50% divorce rate. Where's the outrage and worry about that? Sorry, I almost forgot. There's a sacrament for that too. Go to confession, say a couple of hail mary's and our fathers and all is well again.
I was raised Roman Catholic too. Once I stopped believing in imaginary friends and discovered I could think for myself, life became a whole lot better.
Look if someone forms a church of the Desmosidici and that organization decides to accept same sex marriage, great. My only opinion is stemmed from the fact the state is pushing its views on religious organizations including but not limited to marriage. If this isn't about mandating religious organizations to accept same sex marriage, then I don't have a dog in this hunt. Two people care enough to spend the rest of their lives together, great, go for it. I'll even show up for an open bar and probably end up hitting on one of the groomsmaids.

Today I learned that there are a lot of ignorant posters up in this joint. What do all of you care what someone else does if it doesn't hurt you anyway, selfish entitled babies.
Nice deflection technique.

* This is how the whole mess started, at one time it was believed that one man + one woman = stability. No comment on how that does or does not apply today.
The whole point of my rant is that those of you who support same-sex marriage simply jump on the bandwagon of "freedom of choice" as soon as an issue because national enough to warrant news coverage, yet you're readily opposed to the fringe out there who feel different than the mainstream. You calling my rant an irrational argument shows me that you don't actually support freedom of choice (marrying an animal, polygamy, under-age marriage), you limit yourself to whatever group makes the loudest noise at any given time. If you were all for true freedom of choice, you'd be unopposed to any of the aforementioned issues.
This topic has nothing to do with anyone here who opposes it. It has nothing to do with me. It has to do with a whole shit ton of people that, in the eyes of government and apparently more people than i thought, have no right to be who they are. It doesnt matter if you think its a choice or its immoral it is not for any of us to judge. In religious terms its uo to God to decide and pass judgement. In legal terms its about civil rights and equality to those that do not have it.
What its not about is forcing anything on anyone except for the moral few passing laws that they feel is right for everyone.
This is probably one of the most passive laws to anyone who isnt gay. It will change nothing for you. Absolutely not one fucking thing.
For those that are gay it means they can be there for/with the one they are with at the end in a hospital. It means that a will can be binding and not contested based on a lack of legal rights. It means that people, thats right people aka human beings, are treated equally in the eyes of the law.
As long as there ignorant idiots out there it doesnt mean they wont still be treated as less than anyone else and it doesnt mean they will have to not still struggle with bigotry and intollerance. So those who feel its their right.to pass judgement and.treat other people like shit should feel safe knowing they can go on like nothings changed and continue being better than everyone else.
This is about the federal government discriminating against people for their sexual orientation.
My calling your rant irrational in no way shape or form implies any of this; you insinuated that all yourself. Yet again, ALL of these posts do nothing to positively contribute to the topic at hand regardless of what you believe.
Muddying the waters by trying to include bestiality, polygamy and child rape into it as a poor excuse of a way to distract the discussion from the posted topic.
regardless if the government, anti gays, religious leaders agrees or disagrees it doesn't matter because gays will still love each other despite marriage. 2 people love each other let them get married. it doesn't affect me or bother me none. i'm sure everyone here has had, have, related to or known a gay person in their lifetime and got along with them fine... so why would their RELATIONSHIP have any affect on your existence?
human rights people, we've been through in the 60's.
and not to knock on anyones religion but i find it hypocritical that the religion that is most against gay marriages are the ones molesting little boys. you guys know who i'm taking about
Race / Color (defined separately in the same act)
Age - 40 and over (I didn't know that was one)
Familial status with limitations
Genetic information (Didn't know this had been codified either)
For the record, my friends were denied because they hadn't bought a house recently. House buyer's not being a protected class means you can discriminate based on it.
From what I see, you are imposing your own will on what that child does and does not want to do.
Do you have evidence that it isn't a protected class?Executive Order 13087, issued on May 28, 1998, prohibits discrimination based upon sexual orientation within Executive Branch civilian employment. The Executive Order states this policy uniformly by adding sexual orientation to the list of categories for which discrimination is prohibited. The other categories are race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, and age. On May 2, 2000, Executive Order 13153 added "status as a parent" to the list of categories for which discrimination is prohibited.
