Got my Obama Care Packet today

I wanted to let you know that earlier today I received my "Obamacare enrollment packet” from the White House.

    It contained:

    · An aspirin and a band-aid.

    · An 'Obama Hope & Change' bumper sticker

    · A 'Bush's Fault' yard sign

    · A 'Blame Republicans first, then anybody and everybody' poster

    · A 'Tax the Rich' banner

    · An application for unemployment and a free cellphone

    · An application for food stamps

    · A prayer rug

    · A letter assigning my debt to my grandchildren

    · And lastly, a coupon for a machine that blows smoke up my ass.

Everything was made in "China" and all directions were in Spanish.

Keep an eye out. Yours should be arriving soon.

Nothing wrong with the shit ass website. They don't wanna admit nobody is buying their crap plan. Only 51000 applications recieved. One girl I talked to had her insurance go from 350 a month to 800 a month. With a 8000 yes 8K deductible. She knows she won't go to the doctors with that kind of cost so she is gonna take a waiver and pay a fine. How is those part time jobs working out libs? You been hoodwinked again huh?

...and here I thought it was supposed to come with a "Gun Control Now" bumper sticker and and over-sized rectal thermometer for that "just fucked" feeling.....

Mass Heath saved me from having to pay out of pocket, or maybe never getting, life changing surgery. I wasn't insured (left one job, was starting another the next day, with full coverage) and had "the big crash" on my bike. They actually will retroactively cover you. This literally changed my life in the most positive way possible.

Now, I have a good job, and as a single man that doesn't own a house I probably pay more percentage of my income in tax than most... So usually I care a lot when my taxes go up. But this one I agree with, and despite having a thin racing budget, I can afford the extra grand if it changes someone's life like it did mine.

    Btw, I'm a registered republican.

Ill try and make this as clear as I can.

My costs are not going up because healthcare premiums are rising. They do that every year and my company has taken care of that.

My costs are going up because the level of coverage the company I work for provides goes above and beyond what obamacare calls for so they dub it a cadillac plan. So in their effort to ensure we all get the same low level coverage obamacare imposes an excise tax on such companies to make it to expensive for them. Im not going to go into why they do this because we all know the plan is not financially sustainable unless we all sign up.

Luckily for me the company I work for does care about the health of its employees. They will be picking up the bulk of the cost increase but not all of it. So I guess given the options I currently have Ill accept my increase over getting worse coverage and hope that in the future the law is changed.

Well I don't agree with your costs going up for having better health care. That's ridiculous.

But in somewhat of the spirit of the greater good (which to me is everyone having health care, instead of only the well off, and shutting down the government to make a point about it) I hope everyone can think critically about what happened to me and understand this isn't the unbridled evil it is painted as.

Nobody and that means nobody got refused help. It worked. It worked so well it was regarded as the best system in the world. Now what we have is a very broken idea dreamed up by socialists that only hurts us little people with very high costs. You think the elite (read Kennedys and Kerrys and fake indians and the Scotty Browns) are going with Obamacare? Btw, I'm not a registered republican but a conservative.

His point is that we have, (soon to be had), the best healthcare system in the world. So much so that the wealthy and leaders from socialized countries came here for their care. Just because someone decided that what we had was broken and that the federal government had to step in and make everything "fair and equal" we are about to take a giant step backwards. The government has no place requiring citizens to buy anything, let alone face a tax or fine for refusing to do so.

You're high off your ass if you think we have the best health care system in the world. The extremely rich have that. You and I don't. And that is the fucking problem

Without getting too political here, my affordable and good quality MVP coverage through work is being cancelled effective 2014. I am praying that when we sign up for new health coverage next year, the rate doesn't double with half the coverage.

I think everyone who has a decent healthcare package, and is about to go though the annual open enrollment period, is shaking in their shoes. I know I am. I get awesome coverage at a reasonable price. I'm hoping that the new package doesn't affect it too much. I guess we'll see in a few weeks.

OK. Damn my conservative at-will employer for doing the same.

I believe unions are exempt from ACA for a few years in the beginning.

When the people who dreamed up this mess actually use it themselves, I'll think it is a good idea.
