It looks pretty, but it ain't got rear sets, real brakes or suspension.
It's kinda like a porn star, nice to look at, but definitely not something you'd actually wanna ride repeatedly.

I used like cafe racers. Then a guy down the street got one. It awful loud and he dresses in all vintage cloths every time he rides. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but he has caused my to hate the bikes.

Cuz he's a fucking hipster, like the rest if those kids.
Ps: RTR and I were walking the new mutt the other day, and he gave a unnecessary whack of throttle when he went by us, scared the everlovingshit out of Rebecca, and the dog (who is a total pussy anyways).
I would've ripped him off the bike if I could've reached him.
Apparently he didn't see me yelling in the middle of sconticut neck rd.

He's lives at the end of my road. I've been meaning to flag him and bitch him out for being so fucking loud, even more of a reason now. He turns down the street and goes WOT every time.

I sound like an old man.

IN lak-o's pic, I first thought the handles for the snowblower in the background was a cheesy mock-up of a license plate/directional mounting set-up.

    Re: Sick Cafe Racer

The craigslist bike is cool, but for some reason café bikes never look right to me if they have more than two cylinders. Some of the best I've seen are based on the Yamaha Virago, which is funny to me because I think stock that was one of the ugliest bikes ever made. But café it up and it looks like someone hot-rodded a Vincent.

Hah, there is a shop I used to hang out at that I'd love showing those Virago pics to while waxing poetic on racing such a beast. It's to the point now that if you just walk in and ask 'Race Virago?' you'll likely get throat punched before being tossed tossed onto the tarmac.

Even scarier, I know the required tweaks to make the 920 motor GO... heh heh heh

Does kinda look like a license place mount! Never noticed that before....

I think that the whole cafe racer scene is getting way overplayed. Here is the formula for those so inclined:

    1 old shitty bike
    1 sawzall
1 something resembling a tail section
    1 pair skinny jeans
    1 sparkly helmet

cut subframe off bike, put on tail piece, get some rustoleum flat black paint and paint over where you cut, put on skinny jeans and sparkly helmet, ride once or twice, put on craigslist "sweet cafe racer, runs good, needs some carb work(because I gutted the exhaust, put pod filters on it, and didn't re-jet it) great project, needs a little work to be finished"

don;t get me wrong, i love cafe bikes if they are done properly. I do not consider my bike to be a cafe racer though, more of a modified 70's suzuki superbike with modern suspension, modern rubber, modern brakes and parts from every big 4 Japanese manufacturer on it, plus a Ducati gas tank, and Dyna mufflers. I even have a chronometric speedo from a Norton commando i might toss on there for good measure! should be an interesting ride if i ever finish it.

Shitting on cafe bikes for being too hipster is just as dumb as wanting one because your a hipster. Love or hate Bikes for the way the ride, not for how trendy they are.

I shit on the bike because it just looks pretty.
I called the kid a hipster that lives near jc and I because that's what he is...
The same with the rest of the crowd that hangs around downtown nb.
The cafe is THE choice of bike in my area for guys my age, who have a little extra cash for the first time in their lives and are buying these things up to park in front of the burrito joint to drink mas cervezas at.
My point: we (here) are largely into bikes for very different reasons than most of the posers that own these things.

Edit: now if you'll excuse me, I have a nose bleed that needs attention.

    Re: Sick Cafe Racer

Personally, I don't hate any kind of motorcycle. If its got two wheels and a motor, its ok in my book. And if skinny jeans, a flannel shirt, and a double soy cafe au late is your thing, good for you. whatever tickles your pickle. ride what you like, build what you like. I guess a "cafe racer" is whatever you want it to be. If people like what i build, thats great, if they don't, oh well, they are not the one riding it.
No, looks are not everything when it comes to motorcycles, function over form should reign supreme, but whoever on here says that they don't care what their "only" bike looks like, as long as it handles/rides well, is knee deep in donkey shit. what would you rather ride, a hot supermodel that fu$#! like a champion, or a 300 pound, gelatinous cave troll with bad breath and body yeast that fu$#! like a champion? Both function just as well..... We are visual creatures by nature. yeah, its all well and good if it feels nice, but I want it to look like a Neil Diamond concert dipped in diamonds on the 4th of July with a Saturn 5 booster going off in the background, yet understated and tasteful at the same time. you catch my drift.

Wellllllllllll, do you know I ride one of the ugliest bikes ever built?
No, seriously. It's hideous. But that disappears when you let the clutch go.
