Not A LOT of money, but recurring charges that I'm just tired of dealing with...

Dan (legalspeed) does mosta the technical site & update stuff. I just 'own' it all at this point and deal a lot with the 'business end' of it. Which again, isn't a whole helluva lot. Just an annoyance, really...

Should I feel guilty for not providing any financial support to NESR? I don't buy merchandise or donate to the "club". I'm a pretty frugal SOB and mostly a loner when it comes to bike activities.

Then again, I don't race, don't participate in any NESR activities and I like think I bring more intangible good to this forum than I take from it...

I kinda like this site, it's nice and relatively obscure with an odd mix of characters (most of which are not young punks making the site truly irritating), but if it were to vanish into the ether, I'd feel kinda bad for some reason, and suspect the New England forum on SBN would all of a sudden become a little more active, and I'd get a lot more work done ...

I would definitely miss it if it were to go away, yeah. I mean, it's not the largest or most active motorcycle messageboard on the net, but really that's why I hang out here. Most everyone is local, and the topics are mostly relevant and interesting. And the percentage of really knowledgeable helpful folks is way higher here than anywhere else I've been, for sure.

I'm curious, do you know offhand what kind of bandwidth requirements the site has, both peak and monthly? There are a few computer peeps around here, maybe we could put our brains together and figure out how to reduce your overhead a bit...

SB.N is just WAY too big, and way too flame-happy.
svrider has a good board, but it's sometimes a little overwhelming, w/ newbies & repetitive questions.

WTF Jay?? What kind of question is that. I would miss it very much. How would I meet peeps to go ride? I'm so bore here at home, and I'm often very lonely (my one true friend live 45 minutes away and we don't meet very often), I mean....I look forward to do all my best to get more involved this summer with the NESR folks, go on rides, etc. I already started by encouraging this site buying stuff, don't let us down now! I come in here to read what people have to say, sometimes I laugh, sometimes I cry (hey, I'm a sensitive woman ok?) this is my way out from the boredom of everyday. I may be not bringing much to the site....but the site surely brings a lot to me. And as UncleFiber said, I kinda like it not being a big forum and I specially like the fact that this site is not filled with as many jerks as other forums and people kinda of respect each other in here. Don't let it die. Or I'll come after you and..err...I'll bite your ass and fill your ears and nose with stinky saliva!!! (Man God does that to me to piss me off just after he drink stinky coffee....ewwww) LOL

I think the board would be missed by many Jay... it's a great mix... not too busy... not too slow...

I belong to a dozen + forums... but only frequent 2 on a regular basis... this being one of them.... I hope you're able to keep it going for a long time...

as someone else mentioned... maybe there's a way to cut your overhead... ???? I'd be willing to help out...

nope... but I'd definitely miss it.

like the mix peeps here, like the coziness of a "local" board, like the usable tech / parts / shopping info we can get. like the fact that I get to hear about rides I can actually go on. like the fact that-- compared to the other bike board I frequent-- things stay fairly civil in OT, and most of the time end w/ a laugh.

met some folk thru this board I'm gonna miss when I head west, that says a lot.
