Cast???

Well, that guy could be my friend Jim! He broke his wrist in two places at last Saturdays Rookie race!

If you're so inclined you can go to my web site, (can't post urls yet but it's in my profile) and read about my second Novice race last weekend!

I will look for you at the track. I will be there the Saturday of the June Classic working with Jay Routhier leading Ducati Demo rides. Then Sunday I am leading a ride for Seacoast Ducati/Guzzi/Aprilla of Derry to the LRRS races. So, I'll look for you then!

Later,

Dave

seacoast aprilia or HD

stick around dave. i went on a group ride last year and when the 2 guys leading the ride (not from here) showed up on busas with sunglasses, sandals, shorts and t shirts. i took a deep breath and sighed. i wasnt sure what to do. i wanted to ride and i didnt want to judge. then when one of our guys (NESR) showed up in full leathers and the busa guys laughed at him, i knew i wasnt riding with them. there was a total of at least 25 bikes when we started. then about 5 of us split off down the road and did our own ride. i wasnt in full leathers but i was dressed appropriately. those rules are old and not many people read them. there are a lot of un written rules here also. when the ride is a "black tie affair". you show up dressed properly. dressing and riding properly are encouraged around here. like Oreo said. there are some rides that arent posted and if you show that you are a responsible then the PMs come for those. stick around. its worth it.

Hey Dave,

I'm glad you are going to get to experience some group rides with us. Next week at the Lowell Bike Night (motorcyclenight.com) is a great place to meet members.

I see that you live in Southern NH. I'll be heading to Lowell from Milford, NH around 6pm if you want to tag along down with me/us.

PM me if interested.

Again. Welcome.

PS - I don't do wheelies

Okay,

Just read through all this....Dont come here too often in intros.

Dave...These guys will bust your balls all day long but are all truly good people. Keep a thick skin and they wont get to you.

Everyone else. I know Dave personally and he means well. He is a great rider and has some pretty awesome rides that he organizes and has great knowledge, skill and some pretty good stories. Get to know him, he is a good guy.

Hola mackeral

Well, thanks for the character reference Bruce! As yoyu can see, I needed it after the hole I dug for myself!

Actually, I think I get it now....

...all these insults are actually terms of endearment!!!

Look forward to meeting this gang. I'll post up the Seacoast rides here too.

(BTW...the Ben and Jerrys ride will be a redo!)

Dave

Wow, I just read through this. I have only experienced one group ride with a wheelie, and it was so far in front of me, I barely saw it. And, it was someone I very rarely ride with.

For the most part, once you have met most of us, be it at bike night (which unfortunately I wont be able to attend until July this year), at the track or on a group ride, we are pretty safe and responsible. Good rule of thumb to follow: Ride with just a few people at first, then follow them around on rides they go on. I have learned everything I know about bikes on this forum, and have found a great group of riders, teachers, and (gasp) friends.

Hey Dave welcome to the board!

I'm Neal, the red head on the 2 stroke that took the Penguin School with you. I came by and said Hi in the garages last week. As for group rides, though I haven't been on one in a while, I find that its hit or miss and you get to know who you are riding with fairly quickly by spending some time on the board. I wouldn't worry too much, this board has a large racer contingent, and I think you'll be safe riding with any of them...or at least I hope. I'm not a fan of squids, but I've dragged knee on the street plenty so I guess I'm no more responsible than some. Annnnnnnnyway, welcome to the site. Glad to see 951 back up at Loudon this season.
