every bike forum i am on people are all the same way. 2 accidents dont ride wow you suck blah blah blah.

i bought it not knwing how to ride. i still dont know 100% no one ever will know 100%. i did good all summer had some instances that i learned from (cars cutting me off merging into my lane etc.... people have accidents. shit happens. once i get my hand back im fxinfg the clip on gluing the cracked fairings and getting right back on. ive had a lot of people say sell it get rd of it stop riding. fall off the horse get right back on, and thats what im gonna do.

i do want to take the saftey class and i will be doing a tonys track day next year to better myself.

my bike is already scratched and abused i have no interest in buying any other bike until a couple years down the road when i will get something newer for the street. since my bike is beat up already i might cage it and have fun next season.
I see where you're comin from... but lemme ask ya a rhetorical question... did you take driving lessons in a beater or just jump in a brand new car & go? Guessing it wasn't the latter. The step you skipped, which you KNOW, was taking MSF before you bought a bike... but I AM glad to hear you're planning on signing up. I'd sign up now as the spring classes tend to fill up quickly... the longer you ride w/o proper training, the longer you have to solidify your bad habbits & make them harder to correct.

Everyone has accidents and yes, shit DOES happen, but you'll find that a LOT of members here have taken measures to make sure they continually educate themselves in a way that reduces that risk... I'm happy to see you're planning on doing the same.

I commend you for your enthusiastic approach, but you do realize at some point in time there is a thing called "learning" that you'll have to do in order to become a skilled rider. Just hopping back on and hoping for the best is not the best approach, IMHO.

get Proficient Motorcycling by David L. Houghes.

read it, and get back on the bike.

sign up for the msf.

keep that entheusiastic approach.

and tell everyone else to shove it.

Don't play catch up with your faster friends. Focus on your ride.

Hello from CT

Welcome. One of my offices is in Shelton CT. First thing I asked myself when I visited Shelton was "What do people do around here for fun?"
