We got a lot of buffalo news stations on TV, and all I remember was that there were fires in and around buffalo EVERY day. |

Re: Brand New to ridingIts great to be from buffalo. 4 years in a row and now rings... i know... but then i just remember a couple of things.... A) i was between the ages of 5-8 when that happened... and B) at least we didnt get there 4 years in a row with a perfect season on the line and choke like champs All kidding aside, i'm pretty pumped to hear so many of you are from the WNY area or close by. Anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of pipes to put on my SV? i was thinking M4 or Yoshi RS3 slip ons.... anyone have a better idea or experience with either model? THANKS! |

Re: Brand New to ridingpersonally I woudln't do anything to the bike unless you've already purchased good quality gear & some rider training. Bolt-ons will make such an insignificant difference in how the bike performs compared to rider training. Rider training makes for not only a faster rider, but a safer one as well. Plus the money spent on training transfers to any bike you throw a leg over The 8 year old 600 supersport I have that I'm trying to sell is almost completely stock... yet when I'm at a track day I have absolutely no issues keeping up with 1000's (until they get to the straightaway)... and it's not because of the power, I just know how to get more out of it. In the end, it's your money, you're welcome to do with it what ya want & new pipes are cool, but honestly, your money's better spent on YOU right now rather than the bike. Hope it works out for ya & welcome to the sport |

Re: Brand New to ridingI never said he couldn't, he can do what he wants. I'm just giving him something to think about. I dunno what his financial situation is but mine wasn't all that great after I bought my first bike. I'm glad I spent my money on training rather than a pipe. Also, FWIW, we were at our friends' house the other day where our bikes are kept in their basement, and they started the bikes: my SV and my husband's FZ6. Mine was the only one we could hear upstairs. |

Re: Brand New to ridingThats awesome. I was leaning more twords the Yoshi's anyway. The bike is REALLY quiet without pipes... which to some isnt a big deal but i like to be heard and i like a nice sound to come out of that V-Twin i have. As far as gear goes i have a really nice Cortech 4 layer jacket with armor all the way through... and some a* riding gloves. So i do have some decent gear. I need to pick up some boots though. Right now i just use this pair of leather hiking boots that cover my ankles.. Thanks for all the input though guys i really appreciate it. |

Re: Brand New to ridingAlso look into holeshot pipes. They are nice quality and Dale really stands behind his stuff. Holeshot Performance Products, Inc. I personally have a Two brothers though. Only because I got it for $100 though. |
