actually Yamaha did a good job regearing the new R1's for better low-mid range than the 04-06 models. 1st gear isn't as tall as it used to be, I have no problem keeping up with modded 600's off the line through 1st gear!

DBConz- Isn't everyone with a Ducati a dick head? I thought it was built into the price tag.

Nilez- It doesn't count as keeping up if they don't know you are trying to go fast. I was under the impression that Yamaha didn't make the R's more street friendly until they came out with the current model's. I might be wrong though, I don't really keep up with Japcrap too much

the low mid-range treats me ok, seeing as how its got good top end that i cant use.

When your bike breaks down (it's a Ducati, they all break down), how do you get parts? Didn't they stop making parts for 99 Ducs? Last time I saw a 1999 Ducati 748 it was in a museum next to some old dinasour fossils......

I haven't had any problems with my bike....yet. I did have to buy a new rear seat for it, got it from the dealer for under $200. And the mirrors, Ebay for under $100. I was talking to Leslie from BCM about how hard it is to get parts for it not too long ago and he said I shouldn't have a problem.

Owning a Ducati entitles you to be a dick head, I mean it does make us better than the rest of you.

Nope. I lived in MA most of my life so most of my friends are still in MA and I only know two other people with Ducati's. One has a Monster and the other has an 01 748 but he lives in Maine.
