New to the forums - from CT

Hi guys,

I'm semi-new to the forums. I've been lurking since I started riding a couple years ago and I post every now and again over at www.bandofriders.net. I don't know that many guys off the forums though as I'm still not big on the group rides. I prefer small rides or riding solo. Even into my 3rd season I still feel like I'm learning and growing as a rider every time I hit the road.

Currently on a '97 EX500 but I've been keeping my eyes open for an upgrade. I'm sure by next season at the latest I'll find the 'right bike'. Been checking out the 650r and f4i bikes. They seem like a nice mix between sport riding and commuting/sport touring. Last year I passed up a trip to ride down to FL with my father when he came up to visit, this year I won't be passing

Figured I would say hi first if I was going to post elsewhere.

Welcome to the forum, bro. Nice bike, I race one... I'm sure that thing's got PLENTY more to teach you if you do decide to keep it as a commuter or track bike & add something bigger to the stable.

welcome. while looking for upgrades keep your eyes out for an fz6. it has all the power of an r6 without any of the crampiness.

of course you could always get an SV, too

It certainly does. I'm getting a little more out of it every time. Even if I did sell it after getting a new bike it would only be around $1500 so I may opt to just keep it. It'll be a decision after the fact.

I like the fz6, but in my particularly picky nature I'd miss the full fairing look. The ex500 isn't much to look at but it was my first bike so I got over that haha.

Thanks for the welcomes guys.
