What is your problem with gixxers? We all can't afford ten year old ducati's with no fairings.

my gixxa attracts nails and screws in the tire. your Du-crappy attracts animals while riding.
new gixxah tire = $150
new 748 fairing = $500+

Do you want me to pull up the blue book values on my 9 year old bike and your 2 year old bike again?

Fixed it for you

For some reason everything likes to hit my bike. I was hitting bugs the size of small birds today.

No no I'm not looking for a way to kill myself. I'm most closely looking at sv650s, 650rs, maybe 500rs. I am very open to suggestions though.

Re: Hello new guy here :D

if you're looking for a good reliable bike that's easy to find cheap replacement parts, look into the GSX-R and CBR 600's.

if you want to learn how to fix your bike that will break every week and spend a ton of money, look into a Ducati.

If you want a bike that will leak and break down constantly, get a harley

Re: Hello new guy here :D

How about dropping the "R" for just a GSX, how are those? Keep in mind I want it to be somewhat commutable, so the midrange torque of a twin is appealing.

i beleive you're asking about the GSX-F, which used to be called the Katana. i learned riding on one of them. they're cheap bikes, and heavy enough for you to not lift the tire, or be too fast. however, they're tough to sell once you want something else, and there's not much of aftermarket parts available for them. not sure about the 2008 models, but they used to be carb'd for as long as i knew

How about this:

If you know what you are looking at you would know that the $9,300 asking price for this bike is worth it. Even if it is 15 years old.

i have a gs500 and even though its a pretty small bike i gotta say it is the nuts man. slow top speed but the acceleration is awsome for 500cc.

Re: Hello new guy here :D

The GS500F is a possibility as well. Looks better than the ninja 500, but it's aircooled vs the ninja's liquid. Might not make much difference though. Decisions!
