Okay,

I finally registered. (Been invited twice on other boards)

So I guess if there is any more really nice weather I might try to come down for a group ride. I'm pretty cautious though. I have a red 01 SV, it's my first bike, I have about 3400 miles now. I wouldn't say I ride really slow, but I definitely don't ride really fast. I don't really speed much on the highway, I'll just speed on backroads sometimes if I'm in the middle of nowhere. I've never tried hanging off, etc.. if that is any indication of the pace I like to ride.

My favorite places to ride are in South-Western NH. I frequently head out towards Mt. Monadnock. My furthest trip so far has been 2 days, I went to the Albany area.

I'd definitely like to meet some people to ride with but I'm pretty careful about who I ride with cause you never know what's going to happen.

I did about 200 miles this weekend, mostly by myself.

Ben

What's up Ben? Glad to see you found your way over here from SBN. Things are kinda winding down now that the weather's getting colder, but it's gonna take off next year for sure! Hopefully we'll find something to do to keep ourselves occupied around here until then.

Anyway, welcome!

We'll see...

I'm still commuting pretty regularly. I'll probably have my bike in storage in another week or two though.

It's okay that things are winding down, by the time things get going next spring hopefully I'll have some more miles and the ERC under my belt.

Ben

Southwest NH ROCKS!!! A bunch of us were out there yesterday (JC, Degsy, Paul, Mike B., Ian L., and myself)

Glad you made it to the site and it's good to see another NH face amongst us. Don't worry about finding stuff to do this winter, I have a feeling we'll be having AT LEAST one party up here at The Stone Crib soon enough....

Pace? No worries with that either. Ride your own ride, period. No one's gonna rag on ya, no one's gonna push ya, and we won't lose ya. Dig?

Anyway, welcome aboard, blah, blah, fuckin blah. And don't be shy, jump right in!!

Hey Ben! You wouldn't be related to Alan & Rocko, would you?

Nope, definitely not related to anyone named Alan or Rocko. I've only been living in NH for a year and a half. I grew up all over the place, went to school in upstate NY (RPI) and lived in somerville, MA for a little while before moving to Nashua. I still know almost no one in the area.

About group rides, I've gone on several rides with one other person, those all worked fine, but then I went in a group of 3 and it kind of broke down due to lack of discipline and communication. (What scared me is I was the only one concerned by what I viewed as near-disasters)

If you guys really don't pass each other and make sure no one gets lost it sounds like it would be fun to ride with you.

We had trouble with the person getting to a light first not knowing which way to go, etc..

Ben

No, man. You won't hafta worry about any of that shit. Honestly, the rides I've lead this year have been real mellow and low key. Even though I see that changing next year (this bike is the third bike I've owned in about a year's time), the 'rules' won't change. Just read the "Group Rules" thread in the "Ride & Event" area. You'll see...

Doesn't really matter your skill level, or how you use it. All that really matters is that you're serious about the sport, you're serious about being safe, you're serious about having fun doing it, you're serious about not jeopordizing others, and you're serious about continuously learning how to be better...

THAT my friends, is what NESR is all about.....
