Hey Guys,
Finally decided to join this forum. My boyfriend the 6 finguredman said you guys would help me if i had any questions, especially when I don't want to listen to him. I also was referred to this forum by dangerousDan . . . who I am unfortunately friends with
he also said it would be a good place to ask for advice.
So I just bought my first race bike (89 hawk), well street, but being converted into a race bike. I got some gear to be able to hit Loudon this season, but still need more.
I was wondering if anyone has heard of some cheap leathers being sold? I am around 5'5 - 5'6 and 150lbs. If anyone hears of anything let me know!
Thanks guys,
I can't wait to race season!!!
Kid

....well, at least your toenails were nicely painted....
When you say 'RACE' do you really mean 'RACE' or are you actually talking about doing some track days. There's a difference and if you've never been on the track there are several vendors that offer 'track day's' and some good novice instruction. Do a few of these and if you still want to race get thee to the Penguin Race School at Louden.

Logical progression of events...
1.) Get good gear.
2.) Do a bunch of track days.
3.) Penguin
4.) Race
Change the order of events=crash crash boom boom

Yip, the generally accepted "path" to follow is to do a couple of track days first, then race school. Just makes for a smoother transition and is no less adrenaline pumping
I'll keep my eyes open for leathers. Send a PM to "theiglu" and see if he's still got a set for sale. He's a small dood.

If your a competitor at heart what will happen at track days is that you will ride around looking for "challengers".
