Some info about the new version of the forum.

• UserCP is now Settings (top/right)
• Things like iTrader, Gallery, Chatbox, etc, are under the Community drop-down menu.
• There's only one style now. This won't change. The style might. Complaining about it won't make it change faster.
• Posting videos: Click the video button just above the text input box, then enter the url to the video. Embedded videos from before the upgrade probably won't be embedded anymore. I will see about re-embedding all previously posted videos.
• iTrader now has an option where you can post things you have for sale/are looking to buy. Click here.
• Unrelated to the upgrade, the Arcade has been disabled. A security issue was discovered in the code and it should be reinstated once the developer updates it.
• The notifications link at the top will become highlighted when you have new notifications. This would include private messages, new likes on your posts, visitor messages, etc.
• There's a built-in 'likes' system now that I think is better than the old Thanks system we've had for a while. Please go here and check it out, and vote. The vote will determine which one stays.
• Attachment management has changed. When you click the button to add attachments to a post you'll be presented with a list of things you've already attached elsewhere, that can be added to your new post. To add NEW files, click the add files button at the top/right.

Some have/will ask why we upgraded. The previous version of vBulletin (v3.8) that we were running is now in the final stage of its support lifecycle and will go end-of-life when the next major revision is released. Currently v3.8 is only getting security updates, and once end-of-life only the most critical security issues will be addressed, which becomes a liability for sites that continue to run the older versions. In order to stay ahead of the curve and ensure that NESR stays current with the latest functionality and security, I decided to do the upgrade now rather than waiting for v3.8's EOL and risk having to do an upgrade during peak (riding season) site activity.

Pointless bitching about the upgrade isn't going to help. If you have an actual problem or suggestion, feel free to post it in this thread, otherwise please move along.

i was trying to figure out why i had to log in and it looked all different. i just spent 10 minutes in my control panel looking for the board scheme. glad i then decided to look for a thread like this.

thanks for the work. i designed some schemes for a forum i'm an admin on, so i know they can take a while if done from scratch.

What is this? It's all different. I hate it. I want the old way. This is so bad, it looks new and stuff. Feature xyz doesn't work, now I can't find Thing ABC, I get an error when I click some link. The old way just worked. Why do we have to change? I demand a button just for me so I can use the old version. Whaa whaaa whaaaaaa

Define "isn't working"? there's another thread in here about Tapatalk and some have confirmed it's functioning although the ability to upload pictures seems hit or miss depending on the phone used.

It sure is, but I think it's because the search index is rebuilding in the background and is kicking the server pretty hard. It should be back to normal by tomorrow morning if not sooner.
