    New To the Forum

Been a long time follower of the forum but finally registered. I'm and SV650 nut and currently own two of them. 2009 SV650S for street duty and a 1999 SV650 for track duty. I've only done two track days so far but I'm already addicted. Bikes in the pic below.

Yeah, guess thats the case. I've been really active on SVrider for a while but figured it was time to get on a forum where more people local to new england are posting.

    Re: New To the Forum

Started in Red group since I only did one trackday prior in September of 2013 with Tony's. By the 3rd session I was looking for an instructor to follow me to see if I was ready to bump to yellow. Ken C followed me for a few laps then I followed him, what an experience to learn from him, really showed me where I was wrong with my line. After we talked for a bit after the session I had my yellow sticker and road yellow for the rest of the day. Did you ride yesterday as well, if so what group? I was on a blue SV, easy to spot me since I was wearing bright yellow knee pucks, basically what Rossi wears in Moto GP.

Nice. Ken is the man. Seriously. Congrats on that bump to yellow. It just keeps getting better!
I was on a red/whit Duc 848 out in the Blue group. Good times for sure.

Pretty sure I admired your SV while staged on hot pit at one point. Digging these SV's more and more with each throttle twist.

Maine coast eh? You weren't one of the two guys in a red pickup that rolled in Monday AM around 7. I followed two jokers up Rt 4 from the Northwood area and down King Road. I was in a grey VW with too many toys in tow.

That sv pops a lot, eh?

I threw the eh in there for good measure, since being a mainer, your inches away from being a Canuck.

I rode Monday too, on probably the ugliest bike in the pits.

    Re: New To the Forum

Thanks for the Welcome Rada, great to see you again on the track. Looking forward to learning more on may 12th.

nhbubba, that was me and two of my friends in the red pickup, we saw you at the shell station and at the gate to the infield. Most of us will be there again on the 12th stop by and say hi. I also think I lined up next to you a few times in the hot pit, always great to see the other SV's at the track.

Chippertheripper, yeah it pops a bit mostly cause the idle is set too high, it sits at about 3000 rpm at idle and should be around the 1600 to 1800 mark. Working on that before the next track day.

OreoGaborio, not normal by anymeans but the bike is a ripper compared to my 09. I do remeber you laughing at it in hot pit while waiting for a session to start.

Thanks for the Welcome mzdagrl, Ill be putting an order in for some woodcraft go fast bits in the next day or so, the track SV is in much need of woodcraft rearsets. Ive been very impressed with the ones on my 09 and the track bike needs them.

leave the idle where it is. thats about where mine sits when its hot. makes blipping on downshifts a bit easier on everything.
i was there too. not riding though. i rolled through just after lunch on my KTM

Its set where is should be now, the beauty of a carbed bike is I can easily adjust it back to where it was. Thanks for the Welcome.
