Went looking to price mopeds last year, and walked out with a Ninja 250. Main purpose for purchase was to save money on the gas costs, since the prices were around $4gal. at the time. ($240+ a month for gas....ugggh!)
Didn't have a clue walking in, and have always wanted to learn to ride a sport-bike. I got the best of both worlds right now.
Am hoping to do some good day trips, and track days... looks like i missed my opportunities for this year on the track days... just learned about them from this site.
Anywhooo...... looking forward to life on 2 wheels....
Jim.
In dry air at 68 °F, the speed of sound is 1,125 feet per second.
This equates to 768 miles per hour, or about one mile in five seconds.
Welcome!
It's not too late for track days, there's some next week and I'm sure there's more coming up!
Expect to hear your bike called a ninjette![]()
Welcome Mainer!

Will do my best to get out asap, but with 2 kids....
well, if you have them, you know.
Also, I have a friend that got into biking the same time I did.
He already has a GSXR 600? and Ducati748? (Testat....)
He's looking to sell the GSXR, and i'm thinking, hmmmmm track-bike??
Oh, to be single again....(daydreaming)
Anyway, will be showing him the forum and track day information, in hopes to get him out there too.... I'm sure it won't be a problem.
We're anxious to learn the right way.

I did my 1st track day after just 5k miles of riding (3 months after getting my first bike). All ya need is a solid grasp of basic motorcycle control.... turning, braking, accelerating, shifting, etc. We take the basics & show you how you can hone them in a safer environment than the street.
