    New to the area

I am new to the area, from CA, working currently in Portsmouth NH, and will be interested in meeting fellow riders and going riding.

I have a very early, and quite scruffy, M900 Monster, which I bought new over 18 years ago, and which I rode here in early October -- from San Diego to New Orleans, then to Barber Raceway for the vintage race weekend, then up here to NH. I've explored some up here, including a very nice fall-colors loop around Lake Winnepesaukee a couple weeks ago.

Nice to join y'all, and hope to get some riding going (weather permitting, of course).

    PhilB

Welcome. I'm originally from CA myself yosemite area. I'm in Portsmouth almost every day for work during the winter loading at the oil terminal off market street. Definitely have to go for a ride come spring. It's pretty cool here.

    Re: New to the area

I've done quite a few "quite some rides" on it, considering I've got 197,000 miles on it so far. My traveling rig is pictured below.

Rode to work today. Quite cold in the morning, low 20's maybe. Coming home, much warmer, and snowing just a bit. Snowflakes in the headlight are beautiful.

Are those mileage numbers right???? Either way Bro....mad props on that many miles on ANY bike nevermind a monster. My Pops has rode his 1958 Harley for almost 40 years daily and is no where near that. Your spine is steel Buddy.

(I did find a German company that actually makes snow tires for bikes (http://www.reifenwerk-heidenau.de/mo...fil=102&pic=59), but only in 110/70-17 and 130/70-17 sizes, so that didn't help me either.)

I'll ride as long as the roads are clear; rain is fine, light snow if I must, ice is a no go.

Yes, it's been a really solid and reliable bike. I had been hoping to turn 200K by the end of last year, but I didn't quite make it.

    Re: New to the area

Me missus is in Portsmouth at least once a week for work. She has some clients over that way (Rochester, Portsmouth, Dover). We've been known to ditch the kids, hit the bars over there and bag up in a hotel. Welcome to the shithole...
