My name is Tyler. We will leave it at that, for now. I am a relative newbie to higher power 2 wheeled motorized vehicles. I have some time on a few dirtbikes and one street bike. I am planning to purchase a bike for this winter. Please show me how awesome Nestreetriders.com is.

Greetings Tyler.
Not many young women are on this board, probably due to the "initiation ceremony."

My first bike was a modded GSXR 750 Srad. I rode that through death valley this past summer.
I am researching Ducati Monster 620/750/S4, FZ1000, Ducati 750SS, CBR600, and Ninja 650.
I am a smaller lighter weight person and I like lighter weight bikes( I think?).

Welcome - the FZ1000 doesn't exactly qualify as a "smaller bike," so not sure what you are comparing to....but those are all pretty decent all-around rides.

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
A bit more about myself. I am from Amesbury Massachusetts. I am 23 years old. I have been on two wheels for quite some time. It started with my father teaching me how to ride a bicycle when i was about 4 years old. I graduated to mountain bicycles soon after and was riding all around my neighborhood and local parks. As I grew bigger the size of my bicycles changed. I went from 16" wheels, to 20", Then 24", 26" and lastly 700cm. Since I was about 15 years old I was racing mountain bikes. Mostly Downhill. I also did some cross country and trail riding. I will attach some photos of my previous rides.
I am also pretty into cars, mostly European autos. I have owned a few BMW's, a Ford, and a Subaru. Photos attached.

You gotta balance budget / Starbucks Power / performance.
Is becoming a better rider one of your goals? Do you have a budget in mind? Are you planning to commute, tour, do track days, hang out at Starbucks, all of the above?
If you are going to hang out at Starbucks - BMW R1200GS.![]()
Tyler I think you are turning Pete on with those BMW photos!!!

Becoming a better rider is a definite goal. I plan to do some riding safety courses in Massachusetts or New Hampshire.
My Budget is under $4000, preferably lower. Though I might try to apply for financial services through a dealer and acquire a newer bike. A good set of dual sport tires is top on my list of accessories next to winter riding gear. I will be riding mostly for pleasure and commuting to classes, groceries, small errands, doctors appointment's and so on.
I only hang out at Starbucks when I am trying to hang with the chicks![]()
Here are two of my favorite local roads.

Welcome.
I'll leave it at that for now.
If you have no idea (or limited idea) what you are looking for, National Powersports just opened a new facility in Concord NH (OK, fine it's Pembroke...close enough) and they have hundreds of different bikes. I'm sure they could help steer you in a good direction. Ask for Ryan if you go.
Why would you want to pick up chicks at Starbucks? That seems doomed from the start.
