A "massive" failure? I think the CTS sales numbers alone would disagree. The SRX, on the other hand, yes. Ugly as sin.
Yeah, Cadillac is doing something right with sales up 49% over last year!

I like the new SRX, but it is small compared to the previous generation. The new CTS is a much better looking car, IMO, and by the sales, I'm not the only one who agrees!

I know a handful of 35-45 year olds who drive CTS coupes. I knew zero in that age range who drove cadillacs previously.Originally Posted by Garandman

Read the article on the v wagon. It's just a concept. Yea they are making them but the goal is notOriginally Posted by Garandman
To sell them, it's to attract people and put the brand on covers. It's working as far as I can tell.

Bah! I couldn't care about the sales of the others. The fact that Cadillac has thrown caution to the wind and produced this thing, that it trumps the Euros in pretty much all catagories and still comes in at a skoash over $60k makes it all the more exciting.

I know they are making it, but it's not being made with the goal of being a big seller. It's marketing.Originally Posted by bergs

I've driven a BMW M3 (412 hp) and a Lexus IS-F (414 hp) in track sessions at Lime Rock Park. We were required to leave the electronic nannies on. I'd driven them earlier in an autocross-type course with assists off and they're a handful. Even with them on they're insane as street cars, so another 150hp is beyond insane.
I can understand the temptation by some of the folks at Cadillac to raid the Corvette parts bin to build something like this. But they are doing it just as the market has moved away from conspicuous consumption.
I think GM has done an excellent styling job with vehicles like the Malibu and several new Crossovers. The CTS - not so much.
