ARRRRGGG My car is ruined

ARRRGG, so i pick up brent tonight and we are on our way down rt 3 just minding our own business. I am going about 60 in the slow lane I hear a screeching behind me and then this fugging bitch hits me on the rear driver side door. I fish tail to the left then to the right, then nose first into the guard rail, spun around and wound up facing traffic. The bitch gets out of her car then proceeds to tell me that she hit a patch of ice. Let me tell you there was no friggin ice on the road at this point, that might fly yesterday but not today.

Brent and I are fine, just a couple of bumps but now neither of us have a car to get around with and I am pissed at people because they don't know how to drive their friggin cages. What the hell is wrong with people, why doesn't anyone know how to look when they switch lanes

BTW this was my first accident. Thank god it was totally her fault.

It was the lumina, and I believe that the damage is worth more than the car. The bumper was completely ripped off, hood crunched in. I know I would need a new radiator and waterpump, break lines the list I think is endless. But I guess thats what happens when you go head first strait into a guard rail.

So I am hoping the totalled check comes soon. I need the cash to buy a new car.

Brent is out buying a honda right now, the jeep is running but it needs a front end inspection. But it looks really good.

got a 99 accord, just the four banger, but it will get me to work til i can get the jeep in full running order.

i think the bike may need to go soon, i cant have this much shit laying around zapping my bank account monthly.

Hey, anyone know if there is a time limit on how long you can wait to report an accident? The woman that hit me has not reported it to her insurance company and I was just curious. The apraiser has already looked at my car and it is not a "total loss". Does anyone one know what they use to determine how much you get from a total loss?

Should be NADA blue book value. When my bike was totalled, my insurance adjuster said I should be able to go to the library and find a copy. IIRC they list high, median, and low retail, and they generally go with median retail value to determine what your car is worth.

Actually, scratch that, now that I'm remembering more the lady told me they'd use NADA book value only if they didn't have enough previous total loss cases of that vehicle to go off that. Otherwise, they'd go with a composite average of the total loss claims on the last X vehicles of that type. But I have no idea if this is a standard thing, or if it's just for new hampshire, or just my insurance company....

If you go to Kelly Blue Book you can get the value. They usally go with 70-80% of the full value. If your cars not at a shop get it to one and let them write it because appraisers forget how to write when it's done at your house. Trust me! Tell them you want a rental too! Make them pay for it, not you.

I have tried to get them to get me a rental but they said because they have not spoken with the woman who hit me they can't prove it was her fault. I think this is a crock because they have a copy of the police report. It was faxed to the insurance company.

I have never been in an accident before so I have no idea how to do any of this stuff. But I would assume if they had a copy of the report then there would atleast be proof of her fault.

Yes retail. By them saying that they are saving money on a rental. Keep yelling and you will get a rental. If your car is hit in the front and back it is totaled.
