trying to join a MacBook on a Windows 2003 R2 domain controller.
any tips other than what i've been reading online?
i'm strugglign and i'm thinking it might be a syntax issue with my inputs (FQDN, IP, domai\user, etc...)

All of our binding issues we get here are due to not using the FQDN. Also make sure you follow the mac syntax for placing it in a specified OU. Also we sometimes need to try multiple times, or just reboot.
As you are no doubt aware already, Macs are a pain in the ass in an Active Directory environment.

i'm trying this because they're authenticating wrong when joining our WiFi. people on Macs are getting authenticated as a random user on our A/D, so i'd like to give this a shot.
can you give me an example of some of the stuff you'd had sucess with? i'm doing FQDN and OU=, CN=, DC= paths ?
