Haha he seemed like a good guy from the phone conversation, he couldn't believe the price I won it at and neither can I. I've been searching for the past 2-3 months. All the corvettes close to this one were selling for $24,000 plus.

Yes it is the C5, with the 5.7. The z06 puts out the same power as the 05-06 base models with the 6.0. My future plans to the car will be to black everything out and put either a turbo kit or supercharger kit in it. Both perform the same and will put it to about 560 Hp with about 515lbs of torque, on the stock motor. If I begin to upgrade components on the engine I'll be well into the 600+ range at the wheels.

Not to piss in your cheerios, but you know the old saying, "if it's too good to be true..." No one's going to take a hit like that on a 'Vette. I'll bet they're going to try and get out of it, or something else. On top of that, I still can't believe people actually pitch out $ for cars without actually test driving them. Maybe this really is a great deal, and if it is, good for you, but personally, I'd find a way to test drive the thing before fully funding it.

I just really hope it works out the way is should for you.

I hear you and I understand buying anything with out seeing it carries a certain amount of risk. I did however take all precautionary steps in buying this item. The seller has 100% feedback, although I have read mixed reviews on a review site. They have been in business for 17 years. I spoke directly to the GM of the dealership about sending my deposit, he was hoping I would back out because of the price it sold for but knew I bought/won it fairly. I'm sure they are not taking a loss on the vehicle otherwise the reserve would be higher. If I find the item to not be completely as described I won't pay the remainder, and ask for my deposit back. If he refuses to pay it back, I'll dispute it with ebay and paypal. Sure I may be out the $1000 for a few months until things are resolved, but I am sure I will get it back. I'll be getting the warranty along with it if shit goes wrong, and NY has a lemon law that will protect me for 90 days or 4,000 miles.

Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..

    Thanks Guys!

John, considering the dealership is so close to you, do you know of anyone that has bought a car from him personally? I've read mixed reviews about the dealership, I'm sure every dealer has their mix of shit and some negative reviews are probably because people don't read their financing papers before signing.

Yeah after seeing it on ebay I saw it on his site at 22k, I was even considering it at that price haha. I am very happy with the price I got it for, hopefully it is everything it looks/described to be.

Mike there are some great coastal roads from Peabody ->>> North up to Newburyport that are perfect for a vette run. I'd gladly pilot you and those ponies around for the first go round. deffinately test it out for those first 4k miles under warrantee.

I won 4 vehicles over e-bay and they have all been no - issue deals ..... CONGRATS Mike

16.5 for that...holy shit, I hope it works out and is as described as well, congrats!
I bought my 636 on ebay and got a sweet deal on it as well, let the guy know beforehand that I was gonna drive out to NJ and check it out and not pay anything if it wasn't as described and it worked out good luckily. Sometimes you just go on a gut feeling but including as much research as you can.

    Mike,
I've been racking my brain but can't think of anyone that has dealt from them. I have never actually been there, just been past it. I agree with what you said. People never take the time to let people know about the positive. We only hear the bitching. The price is awesome and it sounds like you've done this as smart as possible. You need a hitch on it to tow bikes to the track so we can all see it and drive it!

congrats on new car, corvettes are one of the cheapest cars to make insanely fast.

you don't even have to go twin turbo, but why not...

Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..

I need to see what systems pepboys are able to order as well, that is another key deciding factor in what my SC/turbo kit will be. I get a commercial discount which saves a buttload off the retail price. Thats APS system looks great though, no other brand I have been looking at goes so in depth with the pictures and specs of the product.

I don't like how close APS puts their turbos to the oil filter.

after looking it up, I don't like the retail price. $8,ooo for their kit. A&A is just a little over half the price.

A&A is the STS kit right? Vortech, Procharger or KB FTW.

The A+A kit is a brand of its own, they utilize some of Vortech's components though. The STS kit only makes a turbo kit for the vette, but they don't include the injectors. Their system is 7,000 before the injectors, still more then the A+A.

Re: I bought myself an x-mas present..

I was trying to find the A+A kit and kept coming up with a company that sells the STS kit. That kit looks like a pretty good deal. I don't think you need much more than that for a mild setup. Have you talked to anyone on LS1tech that has that kit?
