Help needed with Lessthan Truckload Shipping

Anyone here have any experience with this. I have basically reduced what we have left for belongings to ~20 boxes that can fit on a pallet. I have found the cost could be cheaper than shippin g the boxes individually but only if the overall weight stays below a certain point.

I was wondering if anyone knew or used any services for this. This stuff has to go across the country and i need an idea of cost before i schedule the shipment.

any help would be appreciated. and if you are taking a drive from new england to California i could pay you to bring our stuff....

    Keith

When I moved to San Jose, I priced out a pallet and shipping individually and it was cheaper to ship them individually. Cost me about $240 for 18 boxes via UPS Ground.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A400 Safari/6531.22.7)

Look into fedex home delivery ground. Very very cheap but it takes about 2 or 3 weeks to get across country.

ya i worked in shipping and receiving for a few years. depending on the size of the boxes it might just be cheaper to ship separately

Long distance LTL can get pricey.

Couple companies we used were Conway, fed ex, and UPS. all of them do LTL

going LTL cheaply and your stuff will get loaded/unloaded several times across the country and it will take a bit of time to get there. Then if it is palletized, you'll most likely have to take to and pick up at a hub.

??? 5 business days, 6 MAX. FedEx/UPS is a good option to look into. Especially since there are discounts for shipping more than 10 packages to the same address. Just make sure they're well packed (no empty space inside the box, taped more than what you think you need, etc.).

I guess I'm dyslexic, but I kept glancing at this thread title and wondering why you need a truckload of lesbians...
