one of my friends, has been getting wildlife photos for decades, he's an avid hunter, forester, and surveyor, he owns several large tracts in NH and VT, in the beginning and old 35mm, setup with motion detector, to keep track of his loggers, to make sure they weren't stealing loads. of course, the cameras also picked up wildlife, and along came the digital age, with the ability to get stills, or video clips, he has over 150 cameras out, some, he only gets to see once a year, others, he gets to at least weekly and he may have some live. If it lives in NH, or VT, he's got a picture or video of it. Last time I spoke with him last fall, he said he has over 75 food plots on his properties. Yes, He is a trophy hunter, hunts several states, and Canada & Mexico regularly (he get 8-10 white tail each year, and give away a ton of venison (my supplier) ) as well as some international expeditions with some good stories

Edit: he took up trapping this year, primarily for coyotes, but has caught several bobcats in his traps, I am waiting for him to post a video of him releasing the cat from a trap, He says it sounds like something right out of National Geographic cat fight videos, last I knew, he has caught and released 4 bobcats since Jan 1

Those are some nice looking coyotes! Just saw a bobcat driving home 2 nights ago. Always amazes me how strong looking they are.

I've seen a fisher cat once. Heard it many times. He was laying on a branch above the chicken coup. They make some wild noises.

most "fisher cat" noises are actually mis-identified red fox screams

Local dbag planning to steal my camera. Selectmen told me to be sure and lock it.

Put the camera on the ford (on our posted property) because the 4 wheeler dudes started going through the stream to get mud on their trucks. Not kidding. Created a significant bank erosion problem. Now has rocks, logs, and a locked cable.

Bobcats are no joke! We’ve had a number of mountain lions in the park a couple miles from my house, freaks out the hikers and mountain bikers. I’m never out there without a pistol! They can be hunted here unlike CA, and with no draw.

In the meanwhile local land owners are withdrawing trail access for exactly this kind of assholery. The damage to the banks was unbelievable. Every time it rains their tracks created rivulets that further eroded the banks.

Only one I've seen was last year in the high peaks, Mt. Grey peak I believe. Walked out on to the trail looked at me, I looked at it and it ran away and disappeared.

a friend of mine sells a product to prevent that, the state has put some in Jericho, and at Hopkinton but they don't like the initial price, and want local clubs to just fill with gravel over and over costing more in long run http://rightwaytrailsystems.com/products.php

I saw that stuff at Hopkinton. Interesting stuff. We were riding in the pouring rain, as well. Seems like it works.

So would a hidden spike strip. :-) As a former 4x4 ahole, trail maintenance and respecting landowners is paramount to actually being able to participate in the sport. And being sneaky.

the area in Hopkinton, gets flooded on a regular basis, when they let water out of the dam. and has withstood the test of heavy traffic in shitty conditions

my friend, recently got a contract with the State of Washington, to put over a mile of the product in
