Re: Critters on the game cam!

The rightway trail systems stuff works as far as if the riders stay on the material. At Hop-Ev there are a couple of areas where this material is in use and it does exactly what it shows in the photos. Problem is when riders get off to the side of it they dig trenches which periodically need to be filled in. Not a big deal really but definitely something that happens. I would imagine long straight sections would be not an issue. Where this typically happens at Hop-Ev are on sections of this material that go around corners while climbing the hills.

More on topic, why would a landowner that doesn't want 4X4 vehicles climbing out of their stream want to spend the money necessary to install this material on the banks of their stream?

the landowner wouldn't be the one paying for it, it would be the club that maintains the trails , no club, I wouldn't let people ride either,

the club I am in, uses our state trail grants and other fund raisers, to build bridges, shore up trails, etc, all on private property, under the duress of losing our privilege to ride there

many of our landowners, use game cams to keep an eye on the trails

My comment was more geared to garandman and his posting the sign that he doesn't want people driving through the stream in the first place.

That pic looks familiar was out running with the dogs last week, they disappeared into the woods, 30 seconds later I hear branches snapping &came within 10 feet of 4 deer trampling my ass as they came ripping thru the woods with the dogs following close behind

I've got a problem with them right now. Just killed one a few days ago and last night another one showed up.

I hate having to kill wildlife, but they are a nuisance and one of our dogs is a dummy that never learns.

Anyone know the best/cleanest way to dispatch a porcupine without quills going everywhere in the yard? Tried a shotgun a few years ago, tried a .22 the other day, and both caused quills to go everywhere.

12 gauge for all but the first one. Actually shot one out of a tree next to the chicken coup and he landed face down in a 5 gallon pail. Wife was like "how tf did you do that?". lol.

they are slow, if they are out in open, usually you can walk up to them, even if they try scurrying away, you can walk faster, kick em in the nose or if you fear direct contact, use a spade shovel as if it were a golf club, and whack em in the nose, they die instantly, dig a hole and bury it

Not on the game camera, but I came across this 5’ long monster while out on my walk today. I was surprised I could get close enough to snap a picture.

Yes, black racer or rat snake. Iíve noticed the larger ones here are more a dark gray vs black. Iím thinking these things are feeding on baby rabbits and mice for the most part
