    My first house!

    Some of you may or may not know that I will be closing on my first house on Friday! Me, my wife and sons are all very excited!

    If you are looking for a real estate agent or a mortgage company, let me know, the people I worked with are awesome. They worked with me for approximately 2 years to get us this! IT has been such a great experience even though it can be tough!

    It took me about 5 years to close on a house. I had several false starts and wasn't ready to settle for just another overpriced, undersized house on a postage stamp. In the end I was fortunate to find a realtor willing to put up with me. I didn't realize how lucky until after we closed.

    It happens.

    It took a long time because after my divorce I really didn't plan on buying anything...so I didn't really care about my credit situation....but after meeting the right women, getting married and planning a future it all came together. Don Clark at LYC mortgage gave me all the guidance I needed to get my score high enough to get approved.

    We made the actual offer in mid Dec and are closing approx 45 days later, which is typical.

    We bought a foreclosure for a wicked good deal basically they are giving the house away.

    Well the work has already started and I'm not even in the F..ing thing yet! The boiler broke when it was de-winterized on Saturday!!!!!!!

    You live across the street from my desktop technician.

    Our boiler control (specifically the hi-fire limit) blew the day we signed on the house. No big deal, you'll get used to expensive surprises!
