It's an old Western Digital wd5000bevt-24a0rt0 and I'm GUESSING that it completely failed but want to confirm and see whether or not there's a way to get anything off of it.
Anybody got any thoughts or suggestions on the best (and most affordable) way of doing that?

I have / had an adapter to recover porn of old lap tops. Could work. You plug it into the hard drive and it has a usb on the other side and power supply if need be.

For a laptop drive all you should need is this. Just keep in mind this style is not capable of powering a full sized HDD.

Pop it in the freezer overnight, then try it on a dock while it's still cold.

Nice, thanks. For 10 whopping bucks, I just ordered it. If that doesn't work maybe I'll try the one Alex linked above.
Good tip, thanks.
Yeeeaaahhh, it's not worth bucks... just a bit of my own time.
Appreciate the offer but as stated, it's not worth much monetary value.
